What it measures before drawing
A normal GPS sends you the shortest way. Cargoway rules out the stretches your vehicle, loaded like this, cannot take.
Clearances, underpasses and height-limited tunnels.

Regulation (EC) 561/2006
Nine hundred kilometres are not nine hours. They are nine hours at the wheel plus a 45-minute break and, if the run goes beyond the day, eleven hours of rest. Move the departure time and the wheel hours: the band splits the day the way the regulation requires and gives you the real arrival.
Cargoway works on the run you are planning. Weekly and fortnightly limits, weekly rest and multi-manning depend on your previous shifts, and those live only in the tachograph. The estimate always uses the full break and the regular rest: it never comes out optimistic.

Calculating a route needs a real account, with Google or Apple. It is not about collecting data: the free plan’s daily limit is counted per user, and without an account reinstalling would be enough to dodge it. Everything else — vehicles, history, address search — works without one.

It is a route planner. It works out the route your truck can take, lists every step and, once you start the trip, follows your position along it with the warnings ahead. It does not speak the turns: for voice guidance you open the route in Google Maps or Apple Maps, and Cargoway adds waypoints so they stay as close as possible to the truck route.

Cargoway sends your truck’s height, width, length, weight, axle load and whether you carry dangerous goods to a heavy-vehicle routing engine (OpenRouteService), which leaves out the roads your vehicle cannot legally take. With Pro, it also adds the EU breaks and rests to the arrival time.

Cargoway plans the run you are about to drive: a 45-minute break after 4 h 30 at the wheel, at most 9 hours of driving a day (10 if you use the extension) and an 11-hour daily rest. Weekly limits and weekly rest depend on your previous shifts, which only the tachograph knows.
